"You cannot miss this place when you are in the area. It is a beautiful building and surroundings, the service people are totally amazing and welcoming. You feel taken care of. The food is very tasty, the portions are good, the prices are really low, we were there almost every day of our stay in Thesaloniki"
"Traditional taverne in old city of Thessaloniky. Food was good with seafood and landfood. The perfect place when you arrive in Thessaloniki. Just think to book vefore as usual in taverna in Greece."
"The Best local restaurant in Saloniki. You will find tradicional dishes from greek couisene. The atmosphere of restaurant makes you feel like a local. 100% recomended."
"Amazing food and location, feels like you are eating on a mountain village. Our favorite dishes were the fasolia gigantes, soutzoukakia smyrenika & dolmadakia. Paidakia were not the best I have tried. Even though we visited on a Saturday without reservation , the staff still managed to find us a table inside, and then moved us outside, which we really appreciated since they had to move all the plates. However, the cats were big and annoying."
"I sampled two Greek classics: Μπουγιουρντί (Bougiourdi) – a baked blend of feta cheese, tomatoes, peppers, and possibly a hint of mustard, served in a small round metal dish. It came out warm and melting — a wonderful dish that, with a lighter touch on the oil, could have been perfect. Φασόλια Γίγαντες (Fasolia Gigantes) – large white beans in a tomato and vegetable sauce, gently seasoned. A true Greek meze classic, comforting and flavorful in its simplicity. I paired the meal with Kechrimpari Retsina wine. While fans of the style may find it a solid choice, it personally didn’t win me over. I ended the meal with a complimentary dessert — pleasant but unidentifiable — and the waiter, unfortunately, couldn’t quite explain what it was. A pity, because curiosity was definitely part of the flavor. I’ll definitely be back here a few more times. The potential is clear, and the dishes are genuinely intriguing."
"Enroute back to the lower city of Thessaloniki (where we stayed), we stopped by Tsinari Tavern. This was a restaurant we wanted to visit since the start of our stay in Thessaloniki because of (1) the interior decorations that attracted Kate (2) the affordable price on its menu and (3) the grilled sardines that looked so enticing! After browsing through the menu, we decided upon the Eggplant salad (3.5 euro), grilled sardines (6.5 euro), Soutzoukakia (oblong grilled meatballs with spicy tomato sauce – 7 euro) and 2 beers (Hellas and Kaiser – 3.5 euro each of 500ml bottle). We also had a bottle of water for 1 euro and the total came up to 25 euros... For the full review of Tsinari Tavern and details of our 5 months Round The World (RTW) travels, visit 2bearbear today!"
"It is a very cozy restaurant. The food was delicious and cheap. The green salad was so delicious. There were very patient cats; just waited around the table to have some fish. I enjoyed being there. At the end they served suprise dessert. Highly recommended. I walked there 2 km from city centre. I discovered Ottoman fountain in front of restaurant. It was so exciting for me."
"A fabulous place for dinner. Delicious food and great atmosphere and fantastic service. Highly recommend. We had 3 starters , 2 mains and bread and wine and it cost €39 and they gave us complimentary desert so as it was all so good we left €10 tip. Definitely worth the 20 minute walk here from our accommodation. And enjoyed the walk thru back streets to see a different part of the city."
